CANNASPORT introduces the first cannabidiol product specifically tailored to the needs of top athletes.
Cannabidiol, or CBD for short, is a cannabinoid from the cannabis plant which was discovered relatively late. Cannabidiol is counted among the so-called cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are active ingredients found mainly in the hemp plant (Cannabis sativa or Cannabis indica). The best-known cannabinoids are cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The latter is responsible for the intoxicating effects of hemp plants. Compared to many other plant compounds cannabinoids were part of scientific research relatively late. It was not until the 1970s that researchers were able to decipher the structure of cannabidiol and THC.
In these investigations, they came across an until then unknown area in our body: the endocannabinoid system.
In 1987, it was Professor Allyn Howlett of Saint Louis University in Missouri (USA) who showed for the first time that cannabinoids act via endogenous receptors. The human body has several receptors that respond to cannabinoids. The best known are cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) and cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2). The CB1 receptor is found predominantly in the central nervous system and in the nervous system of the intestine. The CB2 is found on cells of the human defense system and on cells that regulate bone metabolism. These two receptors are part of the so-called endocannabinoid system, which regulates body processes.
So it has an influence on the
• perception of pain
• perception and development of fears
• mood
• Attention and concentration
• Regulation of appetite
• Regulation of sleep and body temperature
The endocannabinoid system can not only be influenced by cannabinoids from hemp plants. The body itself produces substances called endocannabinoids, which influence the system. The endocannabinoid booster spray contained in the CANNASPORT additionally stimulates this system and improves the external intake of cannabidiol in the human body.
Because of the central role of the endocannabinoid system in the body, it is understandable that it can have a significant impact on our well-being and on a possible recovery in the event of an injury or high stress.
By binding to the cannabinoid receptors cannabidiol acts anti-inflammatory, analgesic. Among other things, the analgesic effect is achieved by activation of the so-called vanilloid receptors (TRPV1). CBD interacts mainly with the G protein Coupled Receptor GPR55, the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ), and ion channels such as transient receptor potential channels (TRPV1, TRPA1).
Unlike the other known cannabinoid THC, CBD is not psychoactive and does not make you tired. Furthermore, CBD has a calming, anticonvulsant and anxiolytic effect. Simply put, CBD is actually the exact opposite of THC. Mainly binding to the CB2 receptor, CBD can improve cognitive ability and attention, and cannabidiol can reduce the effect of THC because it competes with it for the CB1 receptor.
Thanks to its antioxidant properties, cannabidiol can protect cells and genetic material from negative influences. Several studies have shown that cannabidiol can inhibit cancer growth. Because of these multiple effects, it is more than understandable that researchers have tested cannabidiol in humans in various clinical trials. The effects of cannabidiol and other substances contained in CANNASPORT have been demonstrated in numerous scientific studies. More about these studies can be found under the menu point "Science".
Athletes can benefit from the positive qualities of CBD, which is a new knowledge. It was not until 1 January 2018 that WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) removed cannabidiol from the doping list as the only cannabiniod. The second known Cannaboniod, THC remains on the list of prohibited substances.
Although the use of THC would not make sense to athletes anyway due to its psychoactive and tiring effects, the intake is and remains illegal and could become a problem with a doping test that exceeds the limit set. Therefore, it is important for competitive athletes to pay attention to the quality of the product. By law, CBD products may have up to 1% THC in some countries in order to be sold legally and as "THC-free". Therefore, the passage "THC-free" should be treated with caution. CANNASPORT CBD2C contains no THC (<0.00%)
